Had a random flash of it. Kind of funny, actually, I was working on this picture (very nsfw) and got to the part where I needed to fill in the "paintings" on the wall. I quickly scribbled down something, blob of white here for mountains, some blob here for trees, moving on...
And then suddenly had an immense urge to turn it into a real painting. It wouldn't leave me be. xD So shortly after posting that picture, I picked up some paints and scribbled this down. Only took me somewhere between 20-30 minutes I think, no refs followed, all came straight from my noggin'.
It's really nothing fancy and a bit of a mess, but I actually quite like it. Things just worked, not much of a struggle. Nice change of pace!
Anyway, lemme know your thoughts!

I think that's what I love about painting. I originally started with coloured pencils, but the time and effort it takes to fill a page was... not so fun. Really got in the way of the picture. With paints you can just get right to it, you can let what you're thinking fall right onto the page and the pace keeps things fun and interesting. Great stuff, it is. x3
Thanks!
Thanks!
Was pretty fun actually. I don't usually just "paint" the way I did with this. I tend to spend a lot of time thinking about what I need to do, but I had a pretty clear image of what I wanted with this and a good idea how to do it all, so I just sat down and painted it start to finish. Was a nice feeling!
This only took half an hour? D:
It's very, very impressive indeed. I'd happily hang it on my wall any day. It feels alive... or as alive as any winter landscape can feel! As someone above me said, it is amazing how just a few brushstrokes can conjure up such vivid images.
