Both maybe? ... :)
I lost my goal
To me it was the question of 'am I doing the right thing?'
What I can tell you, I think this would have helped me if I knew it sooner; Whatever I do I learn. Learn to learn first, and any related things to what I'm doing.
For example, you're learning more than drawing!
You learn how fast or slow you can learn, what kind of mistakes you tend to make during your process. How much you can burden yourself without break up your stress level, but to find that borer you have to break it at least at once to know there is your threshold not to cross again any time soon. (Because later you can become more durable)
How to distribute your stamina in work. How long you can concentrate constantly, and how long break you need to find the balance in between work and your own health. You know, not to be too lazy, but also not breaking yourself.
You even teaches your hand to make precision moves, what could be useful, for example, being an electric worker, soldering! Or maybe a surgery assistant to make precise cuts! Restorer! Clean up delicate artifact, or dinosaur bones!
See? You learn more than drawing! You increase your future possibilities what else you will be able to do if you ever think drawing isn't for you anymore.
You also learn use computer, fix issues you encounter, register platforms like FF!
No matter what you do, the knowledge you collect can be used to do other things in your life.
Enjoy the drawing while you can, and remember, the only waste of time if you do absolutely nothing!
I hope I could help you a little with my speech.
