Wow, it's been a while since I last posted something! The orchestra and the quintet have performed a lot in the meantime, and I do have some recordings now, though not all.
This is from "Variaciones Concertantes" by Ginastera. It's an extremely cool piece based on a theme first stated by solo Cello and Harp, then almost every instrument in the orchestra gets a solo variation accompanied by the orchestra.
The clarinet variation is one of the most difficult, and is often asked on high-level auditions. I had never played it before and was terrified! The conductor took it slower than I was expecting, but that makes it easier. This recording isn't perfect, but even famous clarinet players are afraid (literally afraid) of this piece, so I feel pretty good about it.
Enjoy!
(This is my orchestra, in which I play principal clarinet. It's my recording.)

Wow such beautiful clarinet writing. You have a really really beautiful tone quality when you go up to the higher register. A lot of clarinetists I know naturally start getting loud on the altissimo range but you have really good control of it; it sounded very beautiful. What a great piece too.
Oh no problem. A lot of our professors almost imply that its taboo to write something so high, but being a Bass Clarinet player (and sort of playing Bb Clarinet) I know that those notes are perfectly attainable and can create new colors. Another instrument like that is the Oboe. Teachers almost always tell you, the lowest octave is the strongest and the highest octave being weakest, so naturally after several times of being told this, we're inclined to write parts in the lower octave, but the first time I heard an Oboe player in the highest octave, it was like opening a whole new world, it actually was really pretty.
Thanks :) I feel like I'm much better at it now, but that's as it should be after a year and a half.
I play the first half on B-flat, going up to the high C-sharp. Then there's a very quick 7 bars of rest during which I switch to A, making the rest of the movement much easier! I guess a lot of people play the whole thing on A, but for me I really can't count on getting up to a high D every time. >o<
