“When it comes to the dimensional layered cake our universe is made up of, The Outer Stars takes up a huge portion of it. Nothing but balls of gas, galaxies, sectors and planets litter the vast expanse of this milky purple void. Even with all of its beauty however, this realm is the one most torn apart by warfare. Some want to blame the “War of Love” for this set of decay and rot; I still believe this is false as they were always going to blast themselves back to the Dark Ages of Space Travel. I say this because of how freely "planet destroying weapons" were used and they'd rather wipe resources out instead of claiming them for their own. Many once great factions now lay in ruin and are now seemingly fragmented into hundreds of tiny pieces. These said factions still continue to scramble for dominance with their own unique goals in mind. Independents are extremely rare as one day I believe all life will be extinguished from it until it starts anew. I suppose that’s why so many factions are desperately trying to travel and conquer the Realm of Materia. Not only for dominance in the spawning pool of dragons, but also for its entirely unique resources that they believe will give them the edge they need to win and conquer this vast expanse.


Some resources are being exported to the Outer Stars for more common materials by Commander Proto. Such as getting tons of iron for a small portion of mythril as it's become so coveted. I already stated that the Outer Stars is beautiful, but there's not much to see outside of long forgotten ruins of the past. You can even hear the radio waves of past civilizations now long gone and forgotten. There's lots of planets still, but most are stripped of all of their valuable resources and are purposefully made uninhabitable. On the flipside there is plenty of cosmic horrors out there too. Long winding cosmic dragons that merely view many alien races as ants. Or how about the gigantic balls of biomatter that casually devour planets? It also doesn't help space travel is made much harder by the fragments of the Plantaran Republic, Angel-Tech and entire armadas of space pirates.


Unfortunately, I believe it's going to get worse before it gets better. Not to mention the constant invasions from the Outer Stars to the Realm of Materia certainly aren't helping anyone. Fortunately, most spacecraft cannot possibly handle Materia's atmosphere even if they manage to warp themselves in. It is still unsettling to think most forms of "Warp Travel" or "FTL flight" is simply using the corpse of a dead god as they travel through its rotting veins. No matter what way I look at it, I find the Outer Stars to be an absolute tragedy. I really wish I could save everyone, but they can't even seemingly save themselves."
