Most Draver manes are long and resembles human hair, but very rarely a Draver will be born with a natural mane style, which is the last remaining trait inherited from the war breed and the first generation of Dravers. More often than not these natural maned Dravers tend to embrace the Goth or punk style and are more wild at heart in general, but no matter their mane type every Draver will go to a professional groomer sooner or later for a trim or a complete makeover with a new style and in a world that has a variety of morphs there are plenty skilled individuals able to make it their chosen career such as Delphine who specializes in equine care and styling. Here she is currently working on her most well known regular customer, Liesbet Hinnik, or Ghostmare as she is more commonly known as one half of the rock duo Cryptkeepers. She has just gotten a mane, tail and fetlock bleach done and is currently getting her mane trimmed as she talks about their upcoming tour in Greater North Armerica which could be their big breakthrough if they catch on with the crowds there.
These are just a few options ofcourse for Dravers as they can also go for a full body dye or bleach or partial ones such as having their pattern altered or created. another thing that is gaining popularity with the younger Dravers is clipping, which means creating patterns in the fur by signifficantly trimming back the fur almost to the skin to create a temporary "tattoo" Dravers prefer to keep their mane and tail long though sometimes they may choose to trim back to half length, particularly the natural maned Dravers prefer to do that. Tail docking can also be done but is generally frowned upon as being indecent when you consider that their tail is basically what covers their hindquarters and preserves their modesty in public unless they like wearing a "skirt" or drape which isn't always practical depending on the weather. Makeup is used sparingly since they are covered in fur anyways and lipstick is pretty much never used by Dravers. What they do use a lot however is mascara and some eyeshadow and sometimes fake lashes as well, basically whatever accentuates their eyes, though curiously Dravers only seem to use natural colors for eyeshadow such as black, browns, greys, white, blonde, etc but naturally there are always some individuals who are the exception and once again it's mainly the youths.
Hooves will occasionally be painted as well in any color available as there's no cultural taboo against it, but it's just not done often since many still work in the field all day and get their hooves dirty, but when there's a day off or a celebration Dravers can appreciate adding a bit of extra color to their look. Jewelry and accessories are the same to Dravers as anyone else, a great way to enhance one's looks and piercings in the ears don't have any social stigma if done in moderation, though nose rings and particularly septum piercings are generally avoided for the same reason as docked tails, aside from the fact those are uncomfortable to wear for most anyways. Collars and chokers tend to be uncomfortable for most as well due to a psychological implant from their original creation meant to control them, but this response has been gradually going away with each generation. That said it is still best to not place anything around a Draver's neck without warning even something like a scarf could trigger the response which most commonly just means they freeze in place but more severe responses could cause a panic attack and hyperventilating but such extreme cases are thankfully rare these days.
So anyways, this was another little bit of info on Dravers which Robin had glanced over during the interview, the second part of which I hope I can post some time soon. Thanks for reading.
