Noooo! I want more! (I'm not sure how to convey tone here; that was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, not immature.) But seriously, I'll want to read the whole thing when you finish it. The excerpt does a great job of generating interest and curiosity.
One nitpick: "...knew of its existence yet, its location was undetermined." That comma is on the wrong side of 'yet'.
