Long before the events of the first TV movie Equestria girls, Sunset Shimmer spent a lot of time tormenting several Canterlot high school students, including the human version of Twilight Sparkle's friends, where she played nasty pranks on them, and one day struck a blow with the complicity of Trixie Lulamoon, Snips and Snails, where the foursome waited until the end of class to haze Applejack, Rarity and Fluttershy, tying/gagging them and smearing them in the locker corridor so as to taunt them by taking several photos, before threatening to publish them in the school newspaper if they reported them to headmaster Celestia or assistant-headmaster Luna.
This is a particularly humiliating and embarrassing situation for Applejack, as Rarity and Fluttershy can't do anything to get out of this tricky situation and have to spend the night in the school corridors sitting on the floor without a modicum of comfort.
