Zooparc Overloons has no population of lionesses. They used to have 6 male lions held in just one habitat, but just like in the wild, the coalition collapsed one day so they had to relocate some to prevent infighting.
Its not uncommon for zoos to have only male lions. Unlike lionesses, the males get evicted by their natal group eventually. So there is a lot of demand for places for them to stay.
