Thursday Prompt: Rescue - The Fox and the Witch

My work life has been abysmal, and because of it I can't say that I am particularly happy with this story but I suppose we should post our worst along with our best sometimes, eh? This clearly seems like some kind of anime fueled creativity going on, which I also wasn't particularly happy about but... what are you going to do. I'm guessing anime fuel is the only creativity fuel I currently have at the moment lol. Anyway, I hope it isn't too bad.

I thought it was really good. maybe not the best formatted, but the narrative was really good. Engaging. The core of the story was immersive and gripping enough to keep me in it til the end. Aileen will hopefully be more prudent in her adventures as she grows up :P

Yeah, I did the Thursday prompt for a while, but the schedule just didn't let me take the time to edit as well as I wanted to. This one turned out pretty well, though, and as Helix said, you can always rework things later if you want. :3

Thank you Tonin! I guess I've been treating TP more as brain exercises (which I suppose is kinda the point?) than something I want a perfect story out of, but this one was especially frustrating for me.

You might not be particularly happy with it, but I think it's a great show of Shelby's character: she cares for the townspeople but gets frustrated with the idea that someone would want to mimic her. I very much enjoyed, for sure.

Thank you FtD! It's more the writing I'm unhappy with lol, I just know I could have done better. Shelby definitely cares about the townspeople, and she would blame herself if someone actually got hurt.

It could definitely use an editing pass, but it was still fun. Silly kids wanting to be heroes. Always getting themselves into trouble.

The line about wanting to shake the chickens did give me a good laugh.

D: When did I say anything about shaking chickens?

My mind actually went to the cuccos from Legend of Zelda and if you attack them they swarm at you for revenge.

I watched a fox catch a chicken and shake it violently once (my aunt had a farm back in the day). I was just imagining an anthro fox still having some of those urges even if they were the ones raising the chickens.
