Wow, the lines are so clean and the colors are so well done! Love the shading on the side facing the camera, makes the warm glow from the other side stick out more. And damn that coats so fluffy, love how it is around his neck and chest haha. Beautiful and vibrant work!! And such a great expression too :)

I tried and still try new art styles when I do simple portrait like this because I'm never totally satisfied when I draw many species.

I'm pretty proud of the expression too ! I think it works really well on this one, same for the fur even if it's a bit of a mess, I'm not really good at it haha

Oh yeah I get that it can be annoying trying something new on a big scale so it’s simpler with a portrait. But I love the fur and the work still even if you don’t think it’s the best, but yes definitely like the expression you got it so good, so handsome haha

Portraits are simple to try new things, yup, that why I hopened some very cheap slots last year, to try new things. I finished one last month and I took Kyander' work as reference. My goal was to do similar volumes and stuff but I feel like I just unintentionally copied their style when I look at the muzzle which is strange because if I look any other part of the drawing I see my own style...

I suppose it's part of the game but I'm not very comfortable with that, that's why I won't take new orders this year, I prefer to try (and fail) with my own work and not with something people paid for even if that was the purpose of those slots.


Anyway I'm glad you like this one, I planned to do more illustration and some new goodies this year so I hope people will like them as well !

Yeah trust me I get it art can be tricky when you’re talking about your own style vs someone else’s and it can feel like copying, but we all got inspired by something, intentional or not, but we can still be original, don’t forget that, so try and be easier on yourself. Trust me though, I know it’s not easy coming from someone who struggles with a healthy relationship with drawing. But I’m glad to hear you’re still drawing and planning on some stuff this year, I wish you the best of luck :)

I suppose it's related to the fact that I was defamed 5 years ago, a beware posted in my back with false evidence etc.
Fortunately it has been debunked by the few people who took the time to really take a look at the doc (I mean, it was pretty obvious...) but since I'm really anxious as soon as I try new things in art.


If I could draw furries like Kyander and characters like Fusspot I wouldn't feel the need to always try new things because geez, they're so skilled.
But thanks ! I won't be able to work on all of this before March but I hope I'll get time to do it after that !
