Oliver is not your ordinary bear. He's more ... bear shaped than anything else. Cybernetic biorganic creature in the memory of a bear it would seem. I wonder how much he weighs?
Northern-Crosshair can probably explain it best.
Take it away, Northern!

Oliver is part of Rain's universe. He is a "Second Lifer", with a robot body. When a person gets old with deteriorating health in their First Life, they have their organic brain converted to cybernetic, then removed from their dying organic body. Their soul, being bound to the now synthetic brain, can be put into a robot body and survive FTL travel beyond Earth. Most Second Lifers embrace the robot look. An organic appearing body, known as "Funny Cars", tend to be high maintenance. Oliver was a doctor in his first life and is now a custom chassis designer and mechanic in his second life, so he's well equipped to handle the maintenance requirements.
His custom chassis may be a lot of work to keep running, but it looks fantastic and is extremely powerful. Does he need to be able to bend steel beams into balloon animals with his bare hands? No. Does he enjoy having that sort of strength and fine motor skills? Absolutely. That sort of strength does come with a weight penalty. So while his body may look organic, there's no hiding its massive weight. He needs to pay attention to ensure anywhere he wants to sit or lay down on is strong enough to support him.
Here he's in his workshop. His VI (Virtual Intelligence) workers are all busy on their tasks. They won't need him for a couple hours. Time for a nap.
