Who are we to judge him ? We don't know his story, the pain he endured nor the one he suffers from today. Binding him may be a protection from himself, maybe until he finds a light worth living for. However, what if it never happens ? Wouldn't we then be condemning him to an eternity of torment ?

Unfortunately in the lore of the Game Dragon Valor the dragons were depicted as the devils incorporated. It is said, that back when the gods created the world, a comet crushed down on the new earth. It was a dragon egg and from it Adzi Daharka, the dragon was born and he brought the evil into creation. Three angels of the gods accepted to be turned into magic swords to give mortal men weapons to defend themselves from the dragons, for those swords were the only means to kill them.
Some dragons seduced mortal humans and gave them a portion of their power, thus creating creatures like Halfas, half human, half dragon. Halfas lived for a very long time, maybe even being immortal, but he had to live the life of a monster and maybe this led him to despise himself and so he tried to get killed by the magic sword of a Dragon Valor, for it was the only way to end his life. - Being alone for all eternity can drive some souls to despair. Immense power, but the price was solitude.
