Under the the nature-energy infused control of the bees, Kurama found himself in a situation where he could no longer resist their calling. He was no longer the Kyuubi. He was the Kyuubee, and determined to spread and protect his hive. They'd see to it that he enjoyed toing so as well :p
The bees had built the thorax on his middle tail, where it houses his chakra. It;s their way of assimilating him in this weird relationship.
