Sex education is vital for the health and wellbeing of young people.
And I have no idea what people like Kajm expect as an alternative? A talk on the 'Birds and the Bees' when someone turns 18? Or maybe hitting them with the Bible until they promise they're straight?

As a parent with a little in first grade, this one hits rather close to home. In our case, we have him in Canadian education, for which we are beyond grateful as we read about what's going on in American education. Like you, Walt, mommy and I both feel this "parental rights" bullshit is just that. IMO it'd be absolutely no different than standing over the shoulder of literally every single other professional and letting your ignorance dictate what their experience should be doing. Mommy and I are both in agreement to let the teachers do their damned jobs. We just feel lucky we have a kid in an educational system and culture that says things like diversity, inclusion and kindness are valued and encouraged, and not spurned and legislated against as they are here in the US.
ASD, I read this article a while back and you're right. There's a world of difference between QUANTITY of education, and QUALITY. FL leads in quantity, but if you're looking for a state with the number of grads who actually know anything and have actual skills, it's MA. FL isn't even in the top 10. The other thing that makes a state great for education is access to education, which FL isn't even close for Black and LGTBQ people.

And where does any of this SUPPORT the thought of cannibalism?
I don't think you even actually read these interviews. The guy even says "Cannibalism is a thing that happens in nature, but this is just something that will be happening if our population gets too large, I wouldn't do it myself unless I actually had no other choice" and brings up historical, "socially accepted" kinds of cannibalism like when rich British people ate mummies.

You need to track down your sources more.

'Like it or not, then, cannibalism is an important part of our story. This isn’t to say that we should change our attitudes towards it. '
TL:DR Cannibalism was surprisingly widespread in our past. We should perhaps stop looking at it as just a barbaric exception.

Lots. That's hyberbole and false.
Hot Air is refering to the New Scientist article I linked to earlier. And is poorly written and sensationalist. If you use that to back up your argument you really ought to do better.
On New York Post and Epoch Times (Link here: https://archive.is/cX8zY). there is Magnus Söderlund talking about it as a concept. Not actually saying we should do it.
Some scientists do this: Chucking out ideas from the sensible to the outlandish. Half the time they do it for clout, thinking they're clever. But its just one guy, saying 'it could be done' and then people running a mile with it) The NBC link you posted shows why its a bad idea.

NPR is talking about a book on cannibalism in nature, published -like the article- way back in 2017. It touches on human cannibalism but again the author doesn't actually advocate it.
Soverign Nations refers to this opinion piece: https://www.newsweek.com/cannibalism-animal-kingdom-ultimate-taboo-humans-1455287?utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=NewsweekTwitter&utm_medium=Social
You would have found that if you followed the links in the articles you refer to.
It is an interesting read, but again it doesn't advocate cannibalism. It focusses on why we now find it distasteful
Your link to NBC is dated 2011 and talks about the idea and then dismisses it as impractical.
I got a dead link with another.
So no, nothing you linked to backs up your argumant that 'lots' of people are advocating cannibalism.

I get there may be shitty parents. but considering they are the parents of the kids. They do have a right to be there or know what the teacher is doing. Without that you get things like schools arranging 'fund-raisers' where they have kits suck on the adults feet.
Wish i was making that up but that recently happened. There's a growing movement that claims the kids no longer belong to the parents but the state...

Comment from the artist from the Webcomic page linked.
"Times have changed, but when I was growing up, some kid's parent will occasionally stop by and sit in on the class. I can only imagine (after being told a couple anecdotes) the kind of chaos that would ensue if they were allowed to do this today."

As a day care teacher in a CPE, I can relate a little to this. Luckily, we don't allow parents in our classes though. Tends to make the children misbehave a lot more when the parent is around (In most cases, not all). We are using Highscope which sometimes feels a little like this at times but it has always been somewhat easy to bring back the class to a quieter state. Loved that short a lot!
I speak with a lot of teachers the consensus I get is: You want to improve the quality of America's schools? You need to improve the quality of America's families. The kids that do their best in class are the ones that get a terrified look on their face when you tell them you are calling their parents to describe their actions in class. This applies from the wealthiest prep school, to the darkest corners of Chicago.
Then there's the beauty of state mandated testing. You don't need those twenty - forty days of instruction. The D.o.E. needs to stare over your shoulder with their agenda as well. You can make up those lost days by working harder. No pressure, the school is being graded, not the students. These tests have nothing to do with their actual graduation, so the children will be motivated to do their best, I'm sure...

Wow, I didn't think I would get triggered by some of the comments. Want to know what's scarry, that is a normal teacher's day, I wish I could say I am exaggerating but I'm not. I have had bigoted parents in my class, I have had kids play and watch videos on their phones, I have been hit with the surprise student (nine last year and three already this year). In-door recess, had three days worth last week. The only thing that could have made this cartoon more real would be to have 20 - 25 more kids in it.
Also, parental rights? Parents have all the rights, they choose not to use it. I haven't had a class rep in my last ten years of teaching. Meet the teacher/demonstration of learning, I am lucky if half of my parents show up, even then, they ignore what their children are trying to show them and do whatever they want or are on their phones. They can't even see how heart broken their child is as they are being ignored. Volunteering? LOL, we had to curtail fieldtrips because parents don't want to go but are thinking that if they pay more the school can magically find someone to "volunteer".
All I see in some of these comments is how out of touch you are regarding your child(ren), or those who clearly demonstrate they don't have kids but seem to know best about how others should raise them.
