In the past, I've occasionally brought up my older brother, and he's one of those people who comes up with ideas faster and more complicated than he can possibly hope to execute. Last year, he came to me with an idea for a comic based on the UK drag-racing scene of the mid-to-late-90s. He didn't have anything in the way of a story or format, but he did point to one of his favourite films, Two-Lane Blacktop, as a reference to the sort of vibe he was going for. Like so many of his ideas, though, it gradually ran out of steam, and he moved onto something else.
From that was spawned the idea of drawing something with a drag-racing theme - hampered only by the fact that I wasn't (and still aren't) much good at drawing dragsters, racing outfits or drag strips (I suppose, at a push, I could have done something with the scantily-clad girls they always seem to rope in to wave the flag). In turn, that spawned the much funnier idea of some of the Stellar Typhoon crew commandeering some equipment trollies and holding their own drag race. And who would be comically irresponsible enough to pursue such a notion? Take a wild guess...
Presumably there are two other crew members elsewhere on the ship, with a trolley and a box marked Chevrolet 150.
