We've had enough class already, no one needs this...
How does Foshu do it though?
purplestarz and me were messing with our art yesterday and I thought I'd show her my poor teaching yay!
1: Have ye a line aert. Set the layer to multoply if you use a cleaned up scan. Make a new layer underneath the line art and roceed to...
2: Color of course. There, isn't that a pretty fish? It's flat though, oso that's why we'll be adding a...
3: Cellshade! Select the color you want to shade with the magic wand tool (set to low tolerance, or you'll get nasty edges if you're not using line art). Pick a shade color, something redder darker more or less saturated anything. The darker your your shade means the shinier your object will be or of course just a lack of light on your fish...
4: Smooth out that shade! Take a HARD brush (soft ones are evil, they make your art look flat and unartistic if you ask me. (no offense to you who can use soft brushes well, but if you do, you probably don't need this tutorial...). Set your brush flow to abou 5-8% and the opacity to 70% or so and smooth out those harde cell shade edges. Also create more texture and depth now like the muscle of the pectoral fin and a little light along the fish belly. Don't be afraid, just shade, you can always use the original color underneath again to go over the misshaded area again
5: More shade and hilitenessssss I guess i lost interest doing a tutorial at this point. Anyway set your HARD brush to 3% flow when you use white or very light tones to create highlights. Again if you use a bright highlight, it'll make your object look shinier. Use a higher flow to create those little light specks of reflected pin light. I used a deep purple for the deeper shade
6: Finish up, I gave the highlights more bloom and added eyes yah. It looks awful, but at least the idea of how I color's there I guess. Now we have a fish fleshed out, add a lot of...
7: vore... because you don't want anyone to see this fish again bleh *smiles*
