Comic: Guided By The Wind (Page 7)
Night falls upon The Lands, and the moon hangs high in the sky. An infinite number of stars illuminate the deep blue sky, and a gentle breeze can be felt. During nightfall, the Wonderkept Woodlands is anything but dark. Energy particles seep off of the Belvenere trees at this time, creating a bright, cozy atmosphere. The pair of heroes continue catching up with one another over the warm fire. Still somewhat obtuse about the ordeal, Zenchi recounts, “So, you heard about me through word of mouth.” Ithaca enjoys a ripe red apple as she talks, “Mhm! I heard talk about a so-called Hero Of The Lands and they sounded a lot like someone I knew! Blue dragon, about this tall, muscly, big sword.” She continues to list off descriptors pertaining to her long-lasting search. It goes without saying that someone like Zenchi is well-known at this point within the culture of The Lands. Naturally, rumors would arise about her whereabouts, her personality, her deeds, her intent, her appearance, and more. “You’ve got a reputation about you, y’know, Chi-Chi?”
Zenchi looks away as she compliments Ithaca’s scouting prowess, “Well, I gotta say I’m impressed you managed to track me down off of such little intel. It was pure chance you found me here.” At the same time, she is dismissive of such compliments to her own character, “But that whole ‘Hero Of The Lands’ thing, I’m not that special. I just help people that can’t help themselves. You know, like us all those years ago.” While an incredibly difficult topic for both of them, Zenchi laments what took place, and how things could have been different. “If only someone could have saved us then.” A stark moment of silence passes between them, as both are still gravely affected by the tragedy. Unfortunately, what’s past is past, and how the two decided to move forward from that night would define them for the rest of their lives. Wanting to lighten the mood a tad, Ithaca places her hand on her friend’s shoulder, “Y-yeah, I remember that night. Mm, those scars might never heal, but it has to be said.” Attempting to compliment her once more, she reaffirms, “You make an incredible effort to help everyone you can. It's admirable to say the least, Zenchi.” If only by a little, she tries her best to cheer her friend up, ensuring that all of her efforts aren’t for naught.
