A new acquisition for my wall of cartoon art. Clare Briggs is mostly forgotten today, but in the 1920s he was a very popular comic strip artist, known for When A Feller Needs a Friend, among others. That strip in particular often featured kids and dogs, and here’s a sketch of one of that ilk. Dated to 1924.

Good news! On my short list of 'must-haves'. EDIT: Better yet, I found it on Archive.org.
My Mom used to subscribe to a magazine called Reminisce. The cartoon on the cover of The Best of H. T. Webster is the first Timid Soul I can recall having seen.

Oh, gleeful, I'm certain! I worked as a volunteer in both my high school and town libraries. Do I love books? Oh, heck yeah! The GF and her roomie have a basement bedroom/rec room full of multiple shelves of manga and anime. Wish I had the space -- their condo is bigger than my whole house!
