Ax, or as some fans may call him Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, is an Andalite.
Ax is from the 90s Tv/ Book series Animorphs, created by Katherine Applegate and her husband Michael Grant, under the name K. A. Applegate.
Andalite's have a set of almond-shaped eyes, including a pair of stalk-eyes that give them 360-degree vision. Their nose-like organ consists of three vertical slits. They lack a mouth, so they eat by crushing grass under their hooves and absorbing the nutrients. They communicate telepathically.
