Mei just had to tell someone, so she called the mouse that she'd the closest to, her Elder Sister.
Hisako could see where her sister was going with her plan, the thematic she was going for with her plan for New Years Eve wasn't lost on the Gothic Mouse, she could totally see how Meiko would come to her idea.
However she heavily suggested that Mei wait until a later date and not link what she was about to do to a Holiday, specially one so close to Christmas. Best to make it it's own celebration.
