A Logan? You want to watch out for them you know, they can be trouble. ;)
I have really no idea what you mean. Logans are lovely things, let me tell you: they only quite rarely cause hullabaloo. =:P
I think its a good idea that, with the bit about Mac, it doesn't go into details about *why* it happened
This was of course my plan all along. And in no way because when I wrote this I hadn't actually thought of the details in the first place. Ahem.
the police officer who visited the shop actually seemed like a perfectly reasonable chap
Well, that was an ordinary constable, not an OB. There's a big difference there, in that the constables aren't generally tasked with doing political stuff, just with ordinary patrolling and suchlike. As such, you get constables whose main priority is genuinely keeping people safe, rather than crushing resistance etc.
Leyland's "never mind" did seem very curt
As you surmised, that was because of what happened in the previous chapter. Leyland doesn't think it's safe to speak his mind in the shop, where vulps (including OBs) may come in at any moment.
Wharton is pretty devious and certainly not stupid
Indeed. There may be a little bit of the Peter Mandelson about him, though thankfully only a little bit. =;) Wharton is a very important character, more so than Selim really.
boiling skulls and doing evil cackles
Well, no. As far as is known, Jarret has never visited Oakwood, so that sort of skullish tradition has never really caught on. =;)
an relatively free press
*glurk* I knew I'd miss a typo somewhere! Thank you. =:)
Thank you so much for that feedback; it's really very welcome! *hugs* Once I've got Logan's Runes back online (hopefully in the next week or two) I should be able to post the next chapter of ALitD here. =:)
