Eventually, for Louis, the Doctor used a sample took by Louis' native bayou. It was random bog mud at a first glance, but more detailed studies revealed that it posses unique features, like a kind of "magic" is flowing into it!

Louis can easily breath underwater, not matter how dirty or polluted the water is, blend in moist and swampy landscapes and, last but not for importance, make statues and artistic items with his own mud! Also, the mud glows, giving a magical-like appeal to him!
