Just remembered - my agent told me about the Young Adult novel A Furry Faux Paw. Once I heard it's a very pro-furry story about a young girl whose furfriends and her own fursona helpe her deal with family drama I had to get my own copy (from Barnes & Noble, not Amazon!) & looking forward to sitting down with it (& maybe even reading it). It's from a mainstream publisher too.
Now, the graphic novel Tales of a 7th Grade Lizard Boy (no relation to the Lizard Boy musical I wrote about - https://tinyurl.com/2sbddrku ) was a total accidental find in the kids' section of a tiny bookstore in Greenwich CT. Only a few pages into it, but a great start: a reptile family from underground, for some reason I haven't gotten to yet have to move to the surface and try to pass for human with the aid of "Mission:Impossible"-type masks, and the 7th grade protagonist isn't happy about the situation and has a miserable time trying to fit in. At some point in the story he goes public of course, but that happens much deeper in the book.

I ordered it at a Barnes & Noble bookstore. You can buy it online from bn.com, evil Amazon or several other online retailers. (Powell Books in Portland OR is a great company.) If you have a favorite local independent bookstore I'd say they deserve your business and they can order a copy for you.
