This concept is inspired by the Russian Gnom ICBM project, which used an air-breathing solid rocket stage to greatly improve the performance of the missile. I wanted to combine the booster and sustainer stages into one casting in order to make the whole assembly more compact. This could be useful for the first stage of sounding rockets and small satellite launchers.
