Welcome back to another Gun Day Sunday! With all of these Black Friday deals I've been seeing, nothing so far has topped the $900 AP5M by MKE imported by Century Arms. A tiny MP5K clone built on HK tooling in Turkey. So much potential and nowhere near as pricey as an HK SP5.
Shown here:
MKE AP5M, Midwest Industries MLOK handguard, Emissary handbrake, some cheap handstop, MP5 claw rail mount, Scalarworks absolute cowitness riser with Aimpoint T2 Micro, SB Tactical brace
Defense Mechanisms Mech belt with one mag pouch and a spare mag
As always, thank you for stopping by and checking out Gun Day Sunday! Feel free to leave a comment on what you like (or dislike) about my content.

I actually saw these in a gun store a few days ago, or at least something like it, it seemed like it had a slightly longer barrel than shown here.
and even though it'd a little higher than I'd personally be comfortable with, I like that red dot there and the the grip there makes the gun very appealing.

There is a longer barrel version and even a full-length MP5-like version, but they aren't the ones that I saw that were on sale. The optic riser is there to give clearance when in use with nods. I really suggest never getting into night vision. It really restructures your range priorities. LOL
Not too late! The NV, LAM, and passive aiming market are a pain. Once you get NV, you start reconfiguring all of your guns that were once perfectly good for use in the day to be used under night vision because you spent $3k-4k on tubes that convinced you that shooting in the dark is the only way you want to shoot while gaslighting yourself into thinking that everything else in the gun industry is relatively cheap (which it's not).
Finally caved and purchased my Henry All Weather in .357. I've been waiting YEARS for the price(s) to drop back to near-sanity, and they refuse! So, at twice what I'd EXPECTED to pay, mine has arrived and is waiting patiently in town for me to bring home!
Now that I have two sets of 'Riding' platforms (.357 and .44mag), I and a friend can go out into the wilds without feeling the lack!
Next on the plate: Stocking-up on the freedom seeds. Damned if those things aren't becoming nearly as expensive as diamonds, too?!

I've been kicking myself in the ass for decades, WAY back prior to ANY of these BS 'Federal/State' bans that took-off in the late '80's. At that time (Just prior to the Stockton public school shooting in Stockton, CA), I had TWO brand new AR15's sitting on the shelf at a local gunshop (Owned/Operated by my Unit's "Armory Sgt." no less!), for a TOTAL of $500.00! TWO of 'em, for that?! And I let 'em slip through my fingers, thinking I had more time...
bah!
I've also had my eyes/mind on getting into the 'AK' platform, but damned it's so tricky, considering all the various Manufacturers/Models/QUALITY OF?! I've been very wary of it. 'PSA' seems to have finally cracked that nut with some of their new models? Still looking closely at 'em (And keeping my fingers crossed I'll ever actually be able to afford one?)...
Yeah, anything 2A related has gone orbital over the prior eight or so years, esp.. Even mil-surp is batshit insane (If they're any good).
Ah, man...
"The good ole days!"
;-P

If ever you want to do AK-talk, I can talk an ear off. I love the AK platform enough to hate the AK market. Long story short, I would still get a WASR over a PSA. It's only $100 or so more and it is a way better base rifle. They are uglier and rougher yes, but robust in all of the right places to remain a truly worthy AK. I have a PSA AK-V and my brother once owned a GF-3 and we both came to the same conclusion, they feel "softer". Not soft as in "weak", but soft as in... "powdery" I guess? After getting used to Romanian and Bulgarian stuff, it was just a little odd.
Despite all of that, a WASR will still set you back $650-$800 depending on where you get it and how much of a turd the seller is. Nowadays, an okay AR-15 can be had for $450 from PSA and it can always be upgraded over time until there are no longer any PSA parts.

I'm probably gonna PM yer eyes out (That read so horribly when I paused to uttered the statement!), when (If?) I get the $$$ gathered and make this leap (To the AK platform). I cherish my pennies, so my dollars matter even more, and I hate throwing good $$$ at crap product(s)!
I have zero problem with 'Uglier/Rougher (To a point) platforms. What I want with the AK is durable/reliable, which is what the AK is famous for. My AR's are like thoroughbreds/arabians. They run beautifully, but demand attention/care! Papa's M1 Garand for instance, while I constantly check/maintain/clean it, I know for a fact I can drag it into/through the mud and everything else, and with almost 100% certainty when I need it to function, it will.
That's the allure of the AK in my eyes. Robust, reliable, DAMNED effective caliber. 'Accuracy?' meh. Anything I can keep in the black with iron sights, out to 100 yards (300?), I'm not going to gripe too much about! (I ain't planing on hunting pronghorns out to 800 yards or anything!).

There is a LOT to know before going into the AK platform. As a general rule, get imported AKs before domestically made ones. Arsenal, Cugir, WBP, FB Radom, Zastava (the controversial one). Import AKs are made in manufacturers that have made the AK for decades and make them well.
Great work! These details are incredible, especially the attachments.
I would not mind having a braced MP5 at some point so I can scratch that PCC itch, but I think I'm going to wait for some more solid movement in the courts before that happens. Gives me enough time for my second AR build, though(nothing too exciting, just throwing a bunch of spare parts together)... :P

As a PCC maybe, but the instant you scale that action up for anything more than 9mm it becomes okay at best or awful at worst.
I've ran a PTR 32P and it was fun at first. After the 10th drill, I was aching to just have an AK again.
I ran a PTR 91. The 1R1 drill had my arms ragged.
I ran a Marcolmar CETME-L once. Bad rifle in nearly every sense other than robustness.
