This is a song from the Brian Jacques book "Eulalia!" and this is a project I did for school using some mastering. So this song is in the book Redwall without music but I set that text to a tune, in this case "Picardy", and made an orchestration of it, using samples from Garritan Personal Orchestra, which I was not used to. I also added live flutes and clarinet (all played by me). The vocalist is my sister who also sings with me at my church. It could have gone better, but I had a serious time constraint on this project, still I am satisfied how it came out. Enjoy!
Lyrics:
"Let me wander here forever, through the glades where once I played,
Long ago in carefree seasons, mid the noontide sun and shade.
I will see again before me, all those smiling friends I knew,
gone alas to memory's keeping, faithful comrades good and true.
Oh, those days of youth and splendour, when we dreamed of glorious war,
vows were made to keep forever, and return back here once more.
Then the clouds began to gather, winter came, we went into battle.
Comes the warrior returning, to old autumn's gold-clad trees,
on the gently sighing breeze, where like teardrops leaves do fall.*
Casting sword and shield aside now, I stand weary and forlorn,
in the silence of the woodlands, I will rest until the dawn.
Let me sleep and dream forever, of the golden days of yore"
*this line is modified from its original version to fit the tune

The squirrel in my avatar is actually Sam, from Mattimeo. There are also uploads of Taggerung for Wind Ensemble in my gallery, as well as a piece for Rose of Noonvale from Martin the Warrior. In the future I also want to write pieces on Triss and Rakkety Tam.
Thank you for the comment!

Very nice melody, orchestration, and live playing (and voice). Working with time constraints is always a nightmare. If you were to re-do this I would say explore more of the vocal range. It sits in a very small range (whether or not this is the performer's full range I don't know) but using this range to highlight some of the text could make it more impactful. Again, I am more about dramatization so this may not be your taste. This song does evoke thoughts of walking and wandering in the woods, a native sound. If that was the intention then you nailed it. Good work :)
Thank you for your kind comments. if you like my Redwall based music also check out Taggerung: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3928671/
