Welcome back to another Gun Day Sunday! Quite possibly one of my favorite AR alternatives. The Robinson Arms XCR. Just put a side charging handle and a shorter magwell and, all of a sudden, it feels better in my hands!

OOh YES! A XCR-L, I love that thing, its a bit of a wishlist of mine to get one in 6.5 grendel, mostly an homage to how I found out the existence of this gun (and the fact the company is really close to where I'm planning to move out to), but also because I just really want an excuse to try out that ammo.
Aw that awesome to see.
Aw that awesome to see.
YES, I know right?
Actually I have a (pipe-)Dream idea of trying to take the MX rifle from ArmA (The very gun that made me find out about the XCR-L) and design a version of it that could be mass produced, especially a civilian version, with maybe some improvements compared to its inspired game counter part. I mean, it is possible, CMMG, who made a few more guns for the market in that cartage years after 2013, designed and made a real prototype for Bohemia Interactive so they could get an accurate sound for it.
And I want to do this because A. The MX is probably as close to the ultimate dream gun for me and its currently in the same status as the Pancor Jackhammer, and B. I Really REALLY want more guns chambered in 6.5 Grendel just for the sake there being more (and maybe make the price cheaper on that ammo).
Yeah a stupid idea, I know, and even stupider a Mil-Sandbox from 2013 that refuses to die and seems to only be getting bigger has influenced my taste in firearms.
Also I want to mention the CMMG is probably the leading company for that round, there's the recent DISSENT line of guns where the pistol and rifles have a 6.5 Grendel version.

As my dad puts it: its only worth it depending on how often you go shooting and how much you shoot.
If you're lets say for this example, firing over 1000 rounds each range day, and you have a range day every few weeks, yeah, its probably best to get one because at that point its an investment to save you money in the long term.
But if you go shooting maybe once every two months, then even you still shoot 1000 rounds that day, its about the same money saved, making it so buying the equipment for reloading your ammo is just a financial loss.
So if you're training and on the regular, get one, but if you're very casual like me, then don't.
