Furio and I enjoyed an amazing vacation in Japan from late October thru early November. I like to say going to another big city in the US is like visiting an alternate dimension version of my own city - everything is kinda the same but a little differently arranged. But going to a country like Japan is like visiting an entirely different planet - a few similarities, but almost everything is utterly upside-down different, in a wonderful way!Here's an assortment of furry mascot-type characters from various ads in the subways & elsewhere...except for the toad photo, which is from a different production of the same Kabuki (all about "Toad Magic"!) play we saw our first day there.
I love the pic of the rabbit getting slammed in the subway door, chopping his carrot in half. (Especially the helpful person at the bottom of the pic showing him a warning card about what he just attempted!) The tiger with the bandaid on his nose is from the same poster.
More pictures to come. (I didn't buy the kitsune mask.)
