Hi.
Guess who's baaaaaack~~~! B)
I went hardcore tonight and decided to work EXTRA on my lineart??? Whaaaaat??? :O
As stated before, I have been in a terrible slump with art. I wanted to fix that by seeing how far I've come. It's amazing just how much my lineart has improved in...one year? Two years??? IDK???
But, no, actually, in comparison to Nordic guy on the right, my revised version *does* actually look better, I think! :O
Some notes on my redid design:
1. I gave him a different hairstyle. While his undercut (I have no idea what to call that???) is...nice and Viking-like, it...kinda felt generic in a way. It does frame his face and balance his beard somewhat, but it felt a bit basic. No hate towards anyone with this haircut! I just wanted to remix it a bit to make him stand out in a way.
Ironically, I made him stand out by giving him a more elementary haircut. Short with a thinning hairline. :)
While I can't pinpoint an age for this character (ages are terrible for me to come up with), his hairline does age him a bit! Gives him a bit of maturity, I think!
His short hairstyle also goes with his longer beard, which is what I wanted to do anyway. :)
2. I made him shorter! I imagined him as the shortest as the team. :)
Short men are valid! Fun sized! :D
3. I gave him a better neckline in his shirt lol. I didn't like that weird V-neck style, so I gave him a short where the collar goes up slightly on the neck. :)
Gives it a tight fit, which I find flattering.
4. His lupine features were improved/edited. His ears are pointed (yet now curved), and his nose now ends in a more-accurate (hopefully) canine tip. :)
Good boy wolfman features. :3
5. I like my restriction on wrinkle lines and/or "overdetailing". While, yes, detail is good and nice, I felt like my design on the right was quite...busy. I want to give it more of an appearance of being a tight shirt on the body, so it would actually be more taught (hence not as wrinkled). I also find my new lineart to be better balanced and more clean.
6. Finally, as mentioned, I wanted to improve his posing. He is now planted at a slight angle for dynamism, and his hand is outstretched in a throw of annoyance during his radio chat.
Thank you all for your patience. (╯˘ -˘ )╯
You are all very dear to me, and I am happy to see you follow me on my art journey.
