This large creature appears only during moonless nights where it seeks to tear apart and consumes any wandering souls it finds, relishing in their final suffering before being erased. It's drawn to areas where large numbers of people/pokemon were recently killed, attracting and tricking souls with their glowing pumpkin head. They're very quiet and shy with living beings but wait with salivating anticipation for their death.

I even thought to fit his lore that his ability would basically be the Ghost type equivalent of Flash Fire or Sap Sipper, taking no damage to Ghost moves but powers up its Attack.
