Shape Of You part1

An illustration for my novella The Shape Of You, which I will be working on at the start of next year. The novella is effectively the sequel to my existing story What You Wish For.
After the entire planet was transformed into an anthro, feral, or hyper form and nearly brought the world as we know it to an end- the God Of Wishes reverted everything that had been wished for previously. Not everything returned to normal quite that easily however- babies that were conceived while their parents were transformed are born with demi-animal bodies! The three main characters are from the same small town out in the country and after they all graduated from high school they set out on a long road trip to the capital city to wish their bodies fully human!
Avalyn is part cow though it is subtle and most people just notice her abnormal height. Unfortunately that isn't always true- she lactates and if her milk supply exceeds what a human could produce without being milked she gets a LOT more bovine, and her endowments big enough to immobilize her till she is milked properly and can revert. She is very shy so Nelly is the only close friend she has ever had- and they have also been 'friends with benefits' for quite some time.
Quinn only dresses in women's clothing but he is actually just goes by he/him. He is dating Nelly now and wherever Nelly goes- so does Avalyn, so it is almost like he has two girlfriends. He is a bit insecure and is yet to see his girlfriend's true face, on top of the fact his father is extremely disapproving of his fashion choice. He might seem like a regular anthro cat guy but not only is he quite well hung- shine some moonlight on him to see a completely different side.
Nelly is energetic and outgoing, and is quite popular in school so you'd think she has her shit together already- but her social empire is built on lies. Even though it seems to break all of the normal rules of these transformed states- she is able to shapeshift. Creating elaborate illusions or outright transforming her body in the blink of an eye- she takes on any appearance she wants, which always excludes her own. Only her family, Avalyn, and her ex-boyfriend have ever seen her true face and know what she really is.

And the lore is very good. I wonder if it actually reverses their immunity to the plague as well. Also, I didn't know there is an entire novella "What You Wish For"! I looked at it now.
Well, fun characters, lore and the artwork. A combination of a written and visual stimuli is entertaining. ^^
This is also titled part1 because there will be a second promo poster, because all three characters have a different form, but showing those forms would technically be spoilers, so I have to wait till the novella is done and out before working on the second poster. Avalyn's form becomes more bovine influenced and tremendously larger the more full she gets with milk, Quinn's form changes with exposure to moonlight, and Nelly... well, her body doesn't even make sense. They have partial traits from their parent's transformed states from when someone's wish nearly ended the world- so their forms should be relatively static. They have a bit of whatever their mother was and a bit of their father. In Quinn's case its a hard divide, and moonlight swaps between them. For Avalyn it shifts with hormonal triggers thanks to her constant lactation. But Nelly can turn into almost anything at the drop of a hat, she doesn't seem to have a static form, which breaks all the rules.
The novella will be a mix of drama and erotica. Their relationship is like a strange unintentional threeway, and as fellow demi-human, they stick close together and naturally made fast friends when they were in school. This takes place twenty years after What You Wish For, so it will also give a glimpse at how the world is recovering from its near destruction. People who went through that are not eager to remember the experience in general- and unfortunately these demi-humans do just that. Treated often as sub-human by their peers, and with misguided hostility by adults. That is why they are undergoing this roadtrip to wish themselves full human, to finally 'cure' their forms. Avalyn has never even attempted to make friends- too shy and worried thanks to how people regard her form as a partial farm animal. Quinn tried to fit in so hard that he is now desperately trying to kick a smoking habbit he took up entirely just to try and fit in. Nelly fits in just fine... but that is because she looks totally human- because her entire appearance is a lie. People don't like her, they like the illusion she presents as herself. Only Avalyn knows her true shape.
So interesting and sexy forms, but, with dire consequences. At least their world is in contact with Astrelle the God Of Wishes, so all they have to do is make it to the big city just the three of them on a road trip together!
And well, a nice promotion of the novella. ^^ I am waiting the most for Snow, but I plan on reading this one too. And next parts of Soulbound like Unbound and Rebound would be really fun to read too (if I remember these names correctly).
Nelly overall sounds like a very interesting character! Also I tried to look for Gods that I remember you mentioning earlier, but I couldn't find them at all. Otherwise I also thought that Astrelle was one of Gods that could have been in contact with Wick, like that God of Knowledge was if I recall correctly! These two worlds seem to be quite similar overall.
Looking forward to the novella then!
In Wick the transformations are always some degree of anthro, and only feral if the person is mentally unstable. In What You Wish For the results are chaotic. Your personality, lifestyle, or even who caused you to turn can affect what happens, and you don't even necessarily turn into animals- some people turned into giant genitals, or clusters of body parts, or fused with other people, etc. There is a ninetails in the story even.
Sadly Snow In Summer will probably be the last of the major projects I work on at the start of next year simply because I know it will be the hardest. Being a CYOA, and... the last CYOA I did took eight straight months to complete, working on it every single day. Unbound and Rebound are on the board still but I haven't officially said I will work on them, so after the other three projects I may still do those. Actually I have written a bit in both of them- like the entire intro and first chapter in Unbound's case. I wouldn't call them parts of Soulbound though- they are three completely different stories, they just all take place in Terio Carn. Although, unless I make some major changes- Soul does make an appearance in Unbound.
Well, Astrelle is not a Lost Founder but you're right in categorizing her with them- they all follow the same continuity; her power is the same as theirs. There is two other Gods like this that are also not Lost Founders- Nihilith the God Of Nothing aka 'Angel Of Oblivion', and although I had to redact all of the stories she was originally in; the extremely evil Dormact, God Of Time. These three and the seven Lost Founders were all born the same way, and all get their powers the same way- but were all raised in different universes. If it helps remember them- there are seven Lost Founders and they are very loosely based on the Seven Sins. Psimance God Of Knowledge is loosely based on Sloth.
Desfernus - Wrath
Diovlunn - Pride
Qorelle - Envy
Teveraek - Greed
Aluslone - Lust
Harmelodious - Gluttony
And most of them are named after a combination of words too. Aluslone is God Of The Hivemind... unscramble her name and its literally; 'All Us One'. Diovlunn? Null and Void spelled backwards- his power is over space. Harmelodius- Harm and Melodious , one evil head and one good head. Teveraek God Of Thieves? 'Ever Take'. Nihilith is named from Lilith the mother of demons and Nihil, meaning 'nothing' in Latin. Dormact - Dormant and Action, a contradiction as she is the God of both past and future. Psimance is named from Psi as in extrasensory perception, and Mance, like mancers- spell casters; Geomancer, Necromancer, etc. Desfernus' immense power is heat based but he himself is always frozen because he devours heat- so he is both hot and cold, Fernus like furnace, and Des as in the prefix, meaning reversal or negation. Their names sound weird because they are extra-dimensional Gods, but I also did not want to just make up random nonsense to name them, either.
