Hi.
I wanted to churn something out so that I could convince myself that I am a creative. :p
Uhhhh this is a continued '''"sketch"''''''' for my orc firefighter ranger. (fun fact! he has a name! it's Gorsar Sinak'ek. i think that it's a name that i might keep)
I wanted to show my original lineart here alongside my new sketch idea.
1. I like how he is more expressive here. He's grumpy.
2. I wanted to add more...what's the word...detail (?) on his turnout gear collar.
3. I hope to improve my posing when I draw his body. I think a heroic pose mixed with his grumpy expression can help with his characterization. I imagine him to be gruff. A bit hard-boiled. He does mean well; he's just...jaded. A bit too guarded. If he was a dating sim character, his route would be the "obviously emotionally-reserved, needs-to-be-saved, I-CAN-FIX-YOUUUUU, Bad Boy with a Heart of Gold" love interest Imaoooooo.
Or, at least, that is a rough idea of how I want him to be read. Maybe similar to Blonde Wolfman in my group photo.
"Flaming passion dances around his aura. He fights fires, but he himself is one too. Blazing, dangerous, in-heat. Yet, as a forest needs fire for new growth, maybe what you need is a controlled burn? Just like a flame, he, perhaps, is in conflict with himself. If immolated too fast--too wild--all of the fire snuffs itself out. It burns out with a whimper, with nothing but sad ash in its wake. All of that responsibility, all of that heroism…is what you need a bright-burning man in uniform? Or will this tango of intertwined soul-flames starve each other? Like a candle, the true vision can be seen with needed light. However, are you prepared to journey his dark halls? You may not like what you see in the shadows, and, well, there may be a reason for why he recesses away in few words and even fewer friends…”
4. His age does look ambiguous to me, personally.
Male-pattern baldness can age men quickly. What I do want, though, is a sense of maturity from him. World-weary.
Hope that this can be a good piece of art for you guys. :)
