There are times in all of our lives where we find ourselves wrestling with a myriad of emotions. I wrote this poem during one of those moments many many years ago.
Augustyne came into my life like an autumn leaf floating upon a rapidly moving stream... and then was gone again.
Life can be like that.
My eyes ever go back to that stream, and yet it is new water flowing past... as it always will be.

This touches deeply, and hits so many notes on heart strings at once like a chord. It is felt but leaves one to contemplate what is actually tangible yet lucid in the same moment. Pain and optimism seem to court each other within this piece in a delicate dance while also lending an air of mystery. I love it, though I can't exactly define why with words, perhaps much like Augustyne.
