This view inside my Ovation 1997 Collectors Edition shows the magic behind the touch sensitive volume control. The large copper rectangles on this flexible circuit board correspond to the marks on the outside of the body. Actually, touch sensitive is a bit of a misnomer since you don’t actually press on anything. It is simply the proximity of your finger on the outside of the body that triggers the circuit.

Well, besides this circuit, there is also a battery box and a more traditional circuit board that the output jack is mounted to.

Glad to hear it. This was tough to get. The focus still isn’t optimal, but there was little I could do with a cell phone stuck in the sound hole.

Years ago I had a Hitachi CD player with flexible circuitry on the laser focusing circuitry over time the weight of the resistors actually cause it to short out against the diode holder. A little electrical tape helped resolve the issue
