For the 1997 Collectors’ Edition, an acoustic/electric guitar, Ovation came up with a unique touch sensitive volume control. There is no volume knob, just touch your finger to one of these marks on the outside of the body.

interesting. i always find that pickups and their control boxes make acoustic guitars sound a little deader and flatter (which is why I generally buy only acoustics without them, since I never have a need to play an acoustic amplified anyway). Wonder if this would help with that.
Good to know. I've still yet to own one. Probably going to wait to get one until I feel like I could/should do an open mic or other performance like that. As of yet I'm still 'small gatherings of people I already know' level, and even that I'm not super confident about. And it will probably be another cheap n' cheerful guitar, just like all my others (okay well, the Eastman is a little tiny bit higher end, but still.).
