I had been thinking of adding a parlor sized guitar to my herd for some time. When I found this Ovation 1997 Collectors’ Edition, I knew it was time. This instrument has a spruce top and ebony fretboard. She sings beautifully in her own voice or when plugged in and is one of my favorites to play.

I have been seriously considering getting a cheaper version of this kind of guitar (Harley Benton makes a knockoff with decent reviews). I do quite like the 'parlor sound' and it's nice to have something a little quieter while practicing, since I live in a flat.

I wouldn't say that it's much quieter than my other acoustics. The tone is certainly different.

D’Addario brand. I’m not aware of any other guitar string manufacturers who color code that way.

Another user of D' Addario strings, I see...

I love the grain of the spruce top, and it looks like the binding is wood as well. Very pretty little guitar.

The best-dressed instruments wear D’Addarios.

You are correct. The binding is wood, with a satin finish as opposed to the glossy finish of the top.
