Once, Hoshi had been residing the moon with the rest of her kin. Fellow lunar hares, looking akin to their distant earthborn relatives with an ethereal, almost reflective moon like radiance to them. Spending uncounted years producing mochi for most of the year, only for them to come down to earth to hand it out with the rest of her kin in celebration, the fateful day in the Jõmon period would come where Hoshi got wounded by a hunter's arrow before her opportunity to return back to the moon eluded her, leaving her stranded ever since, focused upon her immediate survival.

Was it all in service to others? An instinct driving her to work without end? Did she celebrate with her kin and have a sense of comradery? Was there joy to her existence before or misery?
A life now so long ago she hardly recalls it.
