Engigoat was a miner/prospector before he was a hired gun. He lost his right foreleg in a mining accident, during which he experience a vision/awakening that gave him the knowledge to how to make his robo-leg. It was tricky but he managed to do it with help from his local engineers.

Eugen can only speak Goat, he never bothered to learn the common ‘Pony-ish’, but he does understand it, he just thought their was no point in learning to speak it as he had intended to live his whole like in his Mountain Goat home of Nibba Root.

An even now that he works in Equestria, he refused to learn to speak it and prefers creatures to learn his langue, he doesn’t have many friends because of his stubbornness.
