It's an American phenomenon i.T... you call a doctor's office and you're on hold for a very long time, and generally the person who does finally answer the phone is totally uncaring.

One nice thing about around here is that we have three competing hospital systems, which keeps all of 'em relatively honest and responsive. :)

You're lucky... I went to one doctor, and I think he must have come from Miami - he wasn't even in the office and I was seen by his tech - but the prescription sure had his signature on it. I'm still ripped about that one.

Over here I'm rather fed up with the whole thing. Sometimes I think just going to a walk in clinic you're much better off because they see you right away. The doctor you have to wait weeks to see isn't any better quality wise.

I'm due for new spectacles myself, but it'll have to wait a while. Too many other expenses have hit this year.

I'm assuming the 'personal touch' was the traditional 'is this one better (fwick)....... or this one (fwick)'.
