Yeah, religion can do that. It's there to answer all the questions, yet it still leaves the believer so confused.. Confused enough to walk naked through caves in denial of impure thoughts, apparently.

I just make up stupid bullshit. Bullshitting is the most important skill to develop ever. A serious answer would be I consume as much media and knowledge as I possibly can.

Well, bullshitting your way to the top is a strategy used these days quite often, I've got to admit ;) I think my main problem is motivation and inspiration. Hardly anything tends to catch my fancy and makes me want to try to come up with my own personal creations. Odd, I used to be a bucket of creativity when I was younger.

I would say reading a lot is a better idea, depending on what you're watching. ALSO, make an active effort to be creative as often as possible. Your fucking brain starts cutting off neural pathways that it thinks you don't need, which is why certain things that were effortless when you were younger become more difficult. If you're over about 25, then it's probably too late, but if not, then you have a chance to maximize your creative potential.

Hah, aright. I'll keep that in mind. I've never been much of a reader, but I hear Tolkien is a popular author. I may have to pick some of his stuff up. I've got two years and six days to kick my ass into shape.

Yeah? Folklore's always been a bit of an inspiration to me.. More video games than anything else, unfortunately. Any books you'd suggest?

I mean, the internet is great for shit like that, although the Brian Froud FAERIES book from 1978 is awesome with badass artwork, and I personally own every Andrew Lang collection. It depends on how much you like to read. I mean, I also have D'Aulaire's Norse Gods & Giants, and collections of Native American folklore. I've got Bullfinches Mythology, although I haven't opened that in a really long time. I've got Wayne Douglas Barlowe's awesome artbooks and his made up book, Expedition. Uh, all of Lovecraft. I have that too. Lots of the stuff I've listed up there isn't necessarily easy to read unless you are honestly into it, though. I've got a decent number of fantasy shortstory collections.

I used to read tons, all the time. Now, not too much time for it. I read horrible shit and also things that aren't horrible. My favorite books are probably 100 Years of Solitude, House of Leaves and The Last Unicorn. Not in that order.

I go to http://www.creepypasta.com/ Lots of it is shit, but sometimes there are some really cool ideas. http://www.bogleech.com/ is also great. Lots of interesting sciency stuff about gross animal biology and gross mythological creatures.
