These ukulele ‘siblings’ are catching some summer rays in the great outdoors. Both were manufactured by Kala and are about the same size, but that is where the similarity ends. On the left is a bass ukulele made entirely of bamboo. On the right is a baritone uke made of ziricote wood. The bass is tuned to the same EADG of a bass guitar. The baritone to the DGBE of a standard guitar.
If you look through my gallery, it is apparent that I like shooting closeups of musical instruments. But for my second book of guitar photos, I decided to get them out “in the wild” for for some full-body photos.

Beautiful shot, Good Fellow. *instant fav*
The flowers and greenery give it a "tropical" motif that nicely compliments the subject.
Speaking of which, I love both of these pretty ukes, but the DGBE one is to die for; that is absolutely exquisite wood! That's a musical instrument that I would spend as much time polishing and admiring as I'd spend actually playing it.
I love the ukulele; my Mom has a few, but every time I play one of them, it ends up in Crossfolf Tuning: D-E-A-F. ;)
