Maka Akito, a Chinchilla living in the cold, rainy city of Zoobourne as a student nurse and a part time model.

Being a Chinchilla in such a rainy place is hard, her family moved from Dry Desert so her father, Hidan, could work as the butcher of Marsupials. Being the daughter of such a respected social figure such as a Butcher, Maka felt very welcome in her new home, though it was to end all too soon in tragedy... Her father began to eat the flesh of other animals and eventually started hunting the very much alive animals of Zoobourne as though he was a predator, after this event he was known as "Blood Drinker Hidan", Maka was six years old. Her mother, Akane, was driven mad by the constant hounding of the press and the berating from the public, her pride was shattered. She attempted to take both hers and Maka's life one night after heavily drinking, Maka escaped her central Zoobourne apartment and called the Police, Maka was thirteen at this time.

Presently, Maka is a student nurse who works as a part time model. She has a VERY small circle of friends and her trust is not easily won. She is often seen hanging around Ringo, whom she considers her first, real friend.
