a few months ago, I asked for fanart suggestions of what I should draw, and someone commented that they liked my vintage-style stuff. it's been quite some time since I've done some vintage stuff, but I decided to give it another go. This time, I decided to include cub Nala. I used this photoshop filter on my Sonic redraw for the lifework and I forgot what it was aaahhhh, but I wanted to use it here.

Anyways, this actually isn't a direct redraw of a screenshot, as the poses are different, but it still takes place right after the "Just Can't Wait to be King" sequence where they ditch Zazu. I notice that the colors in old disney movies tend to be darker and/or desaturated, compared to newer films, so I did that here. I was inspired by the colors in Bambi, as they were pretty dark. For the backgrounds, I used screenshots from The Jungle Book as references. For the character designs, I used the 1950s Disney short "Lambert the Sheepish Lion".

Pretty nice to do one of these again! I need to know the damn filter for the lines next time though!
