Zilnae, as a society, place a distinct importance on the creation of their wine. While none are expected to make it their profession, all are expected to produce a single bottle as a right of passage. Typically, the process is a test of one's ability to collect and process their venom, a task easier said than done without hurting one's self. Traditionally, this venome will be mixed with mushrooms, sugar, water, and yeast, but many will add their own additional spices and seasonings in. Being paralytic in nature, the venom in Zilnae wine lends to a sense of danger to those imbibing it, but is ultimately harmless so long as serving instructions are followed properly, and serving sizes are headed. A zilnae's first bottle of wine is often called a proof, treated as physical evidence the zilnae in question has become a full grown adult, completely disregarding the quality or taste of the spirit itself. These first bottles are tested for alcohol content, and potency only. More often than not, these first bottles are far too poor quality to consider drinking except in times of most dire compulsion. Despite this, a Zilnae will most likely hold onto the bottle as a token of sentimental value.
