Eliot Shag was so glad he finally accepted the Springers' offer to join them for their summer vacation.
He managed to join with them at the airport at the last minute and to nab a ticket for their plane.
It had been only two weeks since they arrived at the South Pacific island where the vacation would be spent, and it had been pure bliss.
The bungalow Terri rented was comfortable and well-equipped, the service was perfect, the restaurants delicious...
These first two weeks had been spent doing nothing but swimming, sunbathing, enjoying the magnificent beaches and the crystalline water.
There were more ambitious projects for the six weeks left, notably a whole week in New Zealand (Artie couldn't wait but see where the Lord of the Rings movies were shot), but for today still, it was snorkeling time.

As he swam between two waters, admiring the sandy depths, a glance of light hit Eliot's eyes.
Looking around, he saw nothing that could have reflected light.
Looking closer, he saw a faint light emitted from inside the sand.
His curiosity piqued, Eliot began digging in the sand.
And pulled from it a sort of jewelry.

Back at the surface, Eliot gave a closer look at his find.
It was a pin, made of a gold frame in the shape of the circle, in which were socketed 12 little black disks.
The frame also linked all of them to a thirteenth black disk in the middle of the circle.
But it didn't emit light anymore, like it did in the water.
Must be the lighting in the water that played tricks. Still, it's a pretty jewel! A tourist must have lost it. A man, I guess, this looks like man jewelry. I wonder if there's a lost and found around here...
