Snarlfang never took off his mask for anything, or anyone. Or at least, not just anyone. He'd known Joshua, Firefloof, and their mother's family for years. After a long while, he contemplated that perhaps, he could reveal his face to at least them.
So, after a lot of thinking, he sought out Josh and Floof, who wondered why the warrior Yuty had approached them, when it was usually them who had to approach him. He explained to them that they'd earned his trust enough to see his "biggest secret" as he called it.
Neither were sure exactly what the Yutyrannus meant, but then, without another word, he unlatched the straps of his mask......and took it off. Both brothers gasped in absolute shock, mainly that he took off his mask as he'd never ever done it before. Then, they saw the sheer number of scars that the mask had been hiding underneath.
If it wasn't obvious before, it was obvious now that he was a true warrior in the aspect of knowledge....and scars. He said nothing, knowing they needed to process seeing his face without the mask, as well as the battle scars it had always been hiding for all these years.
So....this is a surprise idea I had, and felt it should come to fruition. I am sure that, since Snarlfang's initial creation, there's been some people that wondered what he looked like without his skull mask.
Needless to say, not only for battles does he need it, it also hides the many scars he's accrued over all his lifetime.
