"One thing that fascinates me about these small and primitive creatures are that they seem to refuse to use forges of iron and steel. No, instead they make their gear out of leather, a form of polished bone, and other various organic materials. Sometimes this bone-like ooze is hardened in their "pitcher plant"-like forges, other times it's laid into thin strips and wound together. Not only is today's recently hunted lunch used to make new gear, but they also seemingly use it to make weapons too! For the base of these weapons though, they'll go on these incredibly long pilgrimages where they go out of their way to find a random stick in the woods for hours on end. If I were one of them, I would've just picked one up in the backyard. Although what do I know, just that stuff looks... Itchy to me." ~Commander Proto
You know me, once again! More Mandrake lore! Yipee! Although this time I wanted to at least change up the background of the image to a cavern of some sort... I'm on a role, but it's about time I actually talked about Mandrakes a whole lot more instead of leaving them on the backburner. As much as I would love to draw more Kobold artwork, I feel that these creatures are on the top of my priority list! I won't let them down! (That and Pikmin has massively inspired me to do more artwork of them since like... well, it's one of the biggest inspirations for them.) Other than that? That and this is also Cycle 9 and is the "Deep past of Skin to Scales" when the universe was in its very early stages. Thomza is without a memory of being a god, the mighty Tiamat rests in an almost eternal sleep, and many heroes are created during this time period. The gods are all resting as the mortals rise and the race for immortality and adventure has just begun!
