So, this last week's prompt was a visual one, in particular this piece bu
Toledo, of a rather stunned-looking bulldog in a vaguely office-like environment. And just looking at it reminded me of the story I did a few years back, Junkyard Dog. Granted, I'd called the troublemaker in that story a pug, but honestly a bulldog works better, and I should probably edit the original story to work that in.
A bit of fun revisiting this world a few years on, though I did foreshadow some of this in the story itself, along with the artwork I commissioned for it. And the previously unnamed ringleader of his little gang of thugs obviously hasn't learned much yet.

Thanks! Yeah, the earlier 'Junkyard Dog' story was written specifically for a macro-themed APA, so it was sort of a requirement, but it's a theme I like playing with anyway... I just don't necessarily do it because yes, it does then mean paying more attention to the descriptions, and that's never been the strongest aspect of my writing in my opinion.
(I used to run into people on FurryMUCK who liked playing giants but had absolutely no concept of scale; it was all just numbers that sounded big to them, and no real understanding of what those numbers would mean. I found those people more than a little annoying.)
And while I might not be a particularly violent person myself, karmic retribution can be fun to write about. Sometimes it even makes a difference; the main 'villain' character in Romancing the Temple did come around and apologize, though after a rather more life-changing event than Davey here. Sometimes high school bullies just grow up.
