syke, I know people are divided on the "it's so bad it's good/it's just bad/ it's actually good" front about the original live action Mario brothers. I personally love it. I think it does a lot of heavy lifting trying to adapt a surreal world to a gritty scifi setting that was all the rage in the early 90's. Plus, in retrospect it has a lot of unsubtle political commentary to make.
