Just as Ms. Battleberry left, Maya felt good about how things were going for her today.
Maya: Looks like Billie Jean was right. Today looks like it will be a good day for me.
Saying this to herself, Maya realized that most of her donuts and pastry inventory were running low, as she looked at the front counter and what was still available.
Maya: Uh oh. Running low. Better make some more. Hopefully nobody comes by as I’m making them.
Making her way to the backroom, Maya finally noticed the purple aura and light that was coming from there.
Maya: Huh? What’s going on at the back? Better yet, how long was this going on for?
Slowly approaching the backroom, Maya looked around. Despite the lights being on, the backroom was still very dark to see due to the dark aura surrounding the entire room.
Maya: Damn it’s dark. Something must be causing this. Only question is what.
Carefully walking deeper and deeper into the backroom, Maya could see the purple aura disappeared, and all she could see in front of her now was just darkness. However, just as Maya made it to the kitchen area, the darkness that was all around her suddenly began to disappear, receding to the back.
Maya: Okay. This isn’t good.
Getting nervous, Maya became vigilant. But as she did, the darkness all around disappeared, concentrating around the pie Maya had made a while earlier.
Maya: My pie! So that’s the source! But what’s that liquid on top?
Before Maya could question this, the pie was consumed by the darkness surrounding it. As this happened, the pie began to grow. The tin tray holding the pie began to tear apart, as four arms protruded from the bottom. Each arm quickly took hold of a spoon, a fork, and two butter knives that were nearby. As the pie continued to grow, the utensils began to grow with it. From the top of the pie, a body sprouted out from it. The body was of that of a female, as it wore a dress that had a Heartless Emblem at the middle of its chest, and had a tiara on its head. Along with this, candles sprouted up from the top of the pie, as the strawberries and the bottom of the pie developed eyes, all of them staring at Maya. When the creature saw her, it began to conjure fire from its hands, ready to fight. What was in front of Maya, was no longer a pie. It was now a cake. More specifically, the Crabby Cake Heartless.
Maya: A Heartless?! Here?!
Acknowledging the danger of the situation, Maya reached her right hand out, and summoned out her Lady Luck Keyblade. Maya had not summoned out her Keyblade since she found herself in this World. But with a Heartless now in front of her, now was a better time than any.
Maya: Alright you baking abomination! Time to destroy you!
Maya and the Crabby cake stared each other down, as they were ready to fight. Making the first move, Maya began to dash towards the Crabby Cake. With her Keyblade raised, she was ready to make the first strike. However, seeing what was coming, the Crabby Cake quickly used two of its bottom arms carrying the spoon and fork to disarm and stab Maya. But she quickly jumped up into the air, and dodged the attacks.
Maya: Got you now!
With Maya up above the Crabby Cake, she used this chance to use Sonic Blitz. What followed was Maya pointing her keyblade in front of it, and performed a downward aerial strike. She then teleported up into the air again, and repeated the process 14 more times. After 15 hits, Maya ended her attacks against the Pastry Monster, as she landed back on to the ground.
Recovering from the barrage of hits, the Crabby Cake Heartless began to make its next move. Using the flames conjured from its hands, it began to light all 6 of the candles around it. When they lit up, the strawberries around it shot out of the cake, flying in the air like rockets, and they were heading towards Maya. Knowing that there was no avoiding them, Maya knew she had to destroy the strawberry rockets. Dashing towards the rockets flying at her, Maya readied her Keyblade. But as she did, her keyblade began to have a dark aura surrounding it, as well as electricity emitting from it. When she was at a close enough distance, Maya began to spin around, as she used Dark Spark Dash. Spinning around, Maya brought her keyblade out in front of her, as her Keyblade began to hit the Strawberry Rockets. Using her ability, Maya was able to successfully destroy 5 of the Strawberry Rockets. But before she could destroy the sixth one, her ability was used up.
Maya: No!
With the inevitable about to happen, Maya could do nothing but cross her arms in front of her, trying to do what she could to brace for impact. When the remaining Strawberry Rocket hit her, Maya was blown back, as she landed on the floor, and the embers from the blast landed on some of the baking ingredients. Despite the embers being small, it was able to ignite a fire on where they landed. Getting back up, Maya looked at the Crabby Cake still in front of her. But when she got a quick glance to her sides, she saw the fires now starting to grow from the embers. With the Monster in front of her not being bad enough, now she had a fire beginning to engulf the building.
Maya: No! The bakery!
With the anger inside her beginning to brew, Maya had to come up with a plan, and quick. With only one ability left at her disposal, she was in a tight spot.
'I can't lose here! And I can't lose this bakery! Not after I got the job after that other guy quit all those months ago! I still have a lot to do to repay my boss. But what can I do with what I have?'
Taking in what she had left to use, Maya was able to come up with a plan. But no matter how she saw it, it was her one and only chance to come out of this alive. Taking a fighting stance, The Crabby Cake Heartless brought its flaming hands in front of itself. As it did, the fireballs in its hands began to form into one fireball. When this happened, the fireball began to grow and grow. Witnessing what was happening in front of her, Maya knew that if she got hit by this next move, she was finished.
Maya: I know there's no way I can dodge this. But that doesn't mean I can't try to cancel it out!
After saying this, Maya raised her Keyblade up in front of her, as a large green sphere of power appeared at the tip. When she brought her keyblade back down, the large green sphere stayed in place, as it began to grow in size and in power. What Maya had created was a Supernova blast. With the fireball and green sphere continuing to grow, the Heartless and Maya put a lot of their power into them. At the same time, the fireball and green sphere were pushed forward. Both the Fireball and green sphere soon contacted one another, with one trying to gain dominance over the other. With both powers clashing against one another, both the fireball and green sphere continued to grow. They grew and grew until both the fireball and green sphere suddenly exploded, creating a sudden explosion of both power and fire. The explosion caused the nearby objects to topple over, and become doused in even more flames. Along with this, it caused the Crabby Cake Heartless and Maya to be pushed back. However, when Maya was pushed back, she quickly dashed forward, charging towards the Heartless. She saw that the Monster was dazed and vulnerable. She knew that this was her only chance to make her finishing move.
'There's my chance!!!'
Maya dashed towards the Crabby Cake Heartless, and used Dual Mastery. Maya carried her Lady Luck Keyblade with her right hand, and summoned out her Starlight Keyblade with her left. As she summoned out her second Keyblade, it was veiled in a light purple aura, as her Lady Luck was veiled in a bright light. Maya struck the Crabby Cake Heartless 26 times with this attack, making numerous slashes form on its body. When the attack ended, she dismissed her Starlight Keyblade, as the veil on her Lady Luck faded. With the final attack done by Maya, the Crabby Cake Heartless began to fall apart. The strawberries on top began to fall off first, then its arms at the bottom gave out, dropping the utensils. With the upper body of the Heartless looking up, the darkness within it surged upwards, piercing through the ceiling of the bakery/ice cream shop.
